Our Sew Your Own Clothes Summer Camp is for enthusiastic young makers who are ready to move on to the Next Level, aka the wide world of garment sewing!

Sewing your own clothes is fun, empowering, and completely addictive - ask us how we know! Our experienced instructors will guide participants through the entire process of sewing a garment, from selecting a pattern and fabric to measuring, cutting, sewing and seam finishing! Campers will select a project from an approved list of patterns. Participants are welcome to research and/or bring their own patterns as well, pending instructor approval.

Needlework is offering two SYOC camps over the Summer break:
In July will learn how to sew woven (aka non-stretch) garments.
In August we will learn all about knits (aka stretchy t-shirt-like fabric)!

Next Level Kids Camp: Sew Your Own Clothes!
Ages 9-13
Cost: $300 +HST All fabric and pattern included. See attached list of approved patterns (coming soon).
Level: Advanced beginner kids sewing. Participants must be able to demonstrate the following: independent setup and use of a domestic sewing machine, consistent seam allowances along straight and curved edges, careful cutting and ironing fabric, and above all else, patience and a willingness to learn from mistakes.

GENERAL CLASS POLICIES
All sewing machine-based workshops are limited to 5 participants. A minimum age of 17 is required for all classes unless otherwise stated. Students must have completed the Sewing Basics 1 class or have equivalent experience to participate in workshops that require the use of a sewing machine.

PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION
Due to the limited number of seats in our workshops, we require full payment of class fees at the time of registration. You may register for a class online via our website, in person, or over the phone (905-667-5663) with Visa or Mastercard.

CANCELLATION POLICIES
Class fees are 100% non-refundable, though store credit will be issued if given adequate notice of changes or withdrawals. See below for our store credit guidelines.

For single-session workshops, store credit will be issued for changes or withdrawals made 72 hours prior to the start of the class. Changes/withdrawals within 72 hours of the class result in a forfeit of fees, though registrants are permitted to transfer their spot to another person if they cannot attend, pending approval.

For multi-session workshops, store credit will be issued for changes or withdrawals made one week prior to the start of the class. Changes/withdrawals within one week result in a forfeit of class fees, though registrants are permitted to transfer their spot to another person if they cannot attend, pending approval.

Please ensure your availability before registration, and provide ample notice of changes or withdrawals to avoid the loss of registration fees.

MASK POLICY
Beginning May 2023, masks are encouraged though no longer mandatory to attend any of our workshops. If you are displaying any symptoms of a cold, we kindly as that you wear one out of courtesy to others. Masks are available free of charge should you require one.
