Land Acknowledgement

Needlework would like to acknowledge our presence on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee.

This land is protected by the Dish with One Spoon wampum belt covenant, an agreement made many years ago between Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. This agreement has extended to other nations over time, including settlers and newcomers such as ourselves.

By acknowledging this land and Dish With One Spoon covenant, we hope that you will join us in reflecting on how we can actively fulfill our roles as residents and good neighbours to Indigenous communities around us.
