Always wash your stitchery even though it may look clean. Natural hand oils can cause the fabric to discolour over time. Gentlywash in cold water using mild (water soluble) soap. Rinse repeatedly until all suds are removed. Lay on a white towel and roll to remove excess water. Do not wring. Place face down on a towel and iron back with press cloth.
