Supply List - Sewing Machine Basics - Pillow Cover
No skills or experience required! Learn the basics behind machine sewing while making an envelope back pillow cushion cover. This three-hour class is perfect for anyone with little to no experience using a sewing machine, or for someone interested in a refresher course. Orient yourself to machine basics like threading a machine, loading a bobbin, sewing a straight seam, and more. Leave this class with knowledge that will allow you to venture into further sewing projects!
If you’re new to sewing machines, these classes are prerequisites for taking our other machine-based classes, and for use of our Sew By The Hour space.
Sewing Level: Total beginner
Recommended fabric: quilting weight cotton, or a similar weight woven (non-stretch) fabric
0.5m of 44" wide fabric, OR
two fat quarters (20x22" pieces of fabric, one fat quarter for the front of your pillow, and one for the back)
- A spool of thread that coordinates with your fabric
- Straight pins
- An empty bobbin
- Fabric scissors
- Chalk/pencil/pen to mark your fabric
- 16'' pillow insert
