A follow up project to our popular learn-to-sew class, Sewing Machine Basics!

In this 3.5 hour workshop, students will put their newly learned sewing skills into practice by sewing up this useful mid size tote, complete with roomy exterior pockets and wide shoulder straps. A great size for everday use - perfect for hauling books to and from the library, trips to the market, or packing up projects and tools for an afternoon of sewing/crafting with friends! 

Skills Practiced & Learned
Sewing basics: machine use, cutting, pinning, marking, pressing, hemming
- Edge stitching
- Seam finishing using a zig zag stitch
- Sewing gussets

Level: Advanced beginner sewing. Students must feel confident setting up a sewing machine and sewing a straight seam with minimal assistance, or have recently taken our Sewing Machine Basics workshop.

GENERAL CLASS POLICIES
In order to ensure that each student completes their project in the allotted time frame, our sewing machine based workshops are limited to 5 participants. A minimum age of 17 is required for all workshops, unless otherwise stated. Students must have completed the Sewing Basics 1 class or have equivalent experience in order to participate in workshops that require the use of a sewing machine.

MASK POLICY
As of December 2022, all instructors and students are required to wear masks and/or face coverings for the entire duration of our workshops.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
You may register for a class online, in person, or over the phone (905-667-5663) with Visa or Mastercard. As space in our classes are extremely limited, in order to reserve a seat we require a 100% non-refundable deposit due upon registration. 

For one session/day workshops:

Cancellations made 5 days [120 hours] prior to the class start time will be issued store credit equal to the class fee that can be used for future classes or in-store purchases. 

Cancellations made within 3 – 5 days [120 and 72 hours] prior to the class start time are subject to cancellation penalty equal to 50% of their class fee, with the remaining 50% placed on file as store credit.

Cancellations within 3 days [72 hours] of the class start time forfeit the fee entirely, and will not be issued store credit. 

For multi-session workshops:

Cancellations made 10 days prior to the class start date will be issued store credit equal to the class fee that can be used for future classes or in-store purchases. 

Cancellations made within 4 – 10 days [96 and 240 hours] prior to the class start time are subject to cancellation penalty equal to 50% of their class fee, with the remaining 50% placed on file as store credit.

Cancellations within 4 days [96 hours] of the class start time forfeit the fee entirely, and will not be issued store credit. 

Please ensure your availability prior to registration, and provide ample notice of withdrawal to avoid penalties and the loss of class fees.
