Intro to Longarm Quilting

Are you ready to take your quilting to the next level? This day long class will teach you all you need to know to start using our HQ Avante longarm, which allows you to quilt up to a queen size top with ease! Learn how to wind and load a bobbin, how to thread the machine, adjust for correct tension, and how to load a quilt and operate the machine. Students will take turn driving the longarm and leave with a sample of varying quilting designs!

This class is a prerequisite for renting our HQ Avante for personal use.

Level: Beginner longarm

Class fee includes all materials, 2hrs of rental time post class, and 2 bobbins to keep for use on our longarm.

Class Policies

In order to ensure that each student receives enough attention to learn and complete a project in the allotted time frame, our classes are limited to 8 students (maximum) unless otherwise stated. A minimum age of 13 is required for all our classes. Students must have completed the Sewing Machine Basics class or have equivalent experience in order to participate in workshops that require the use of a sewing machine. Materials and supplies are not included in the class fee unless otherwise noted. 

Payment and Cancellation Policies

Space in our workshops are limited, therefore to reserve a seat in any of our classes a 100% non-refundable deposit must be received at the time of registration. You may register for a class in person, online, or over the phone (905-667-566) with Visa or Mastercard. Cancellations made 48 hours prior to the class start date may use their payment as store credit. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start date forfeit their fee entirely. The class fee listed does not include HST.
